I need your help...

...I want to get back in shape and I have NO motivation!! The hubbs and I met in high school, and I don't even want to tell you the weight difference between then and now. I understand that I will never be the size I was at 16, but I need to start trying to make myself a healthier person.

Please share you eating/working out motivational tips (songs for your IPOD, tracking, etc.) I really need you help because I am not happy with the way I look right now, and I lack the motivation to get moving :(

Happy Friday!

Something I think that helped me getting into better shape is working out with my fiance. We started to run together recently. He was in the Army so he is use to it, but he is trying to help me go from powerwalking or running just one lap to being able to run all 4 of the laps around the local high school track. That with a little P90X Yoga or 30 day shred should be good.

I have found so much knowledge and motivation from a woman name Kaci. She woke up and decieded to start living a healthier lifestyle and has done the work and research on the way to do it right. She didn't do it with a goal weight but a goal to be a heathier her. Two years later and 90lbs lost Kaci is helping others as a consultant and writer. Check out her blog www.kacicoble.com .

As far as music goes I like to switch it up and it depends on what i'm doing. I like upbeat fast stuff when I'm doing cardio and slow melow for weights. The upbeat keeps me going during Cardio and the Melow helps me watch my breathing and focus during lifting.

I'm still just getting back into all this and have let myself get to an unhappy place as well. I hope you find what works for you.

When I work out I like to do work out classes or at least a DVD at home like 30 Day Shred. I don't like going from machine to machine at the gym. I much prefer classes.

Hey girl! Do you like running? If so I LOVE the book "The Runner's Handbook" by Bob Glover. It worked me up from walking to running a marathon in 9 months and I dropped 16 pounds :) which I've gained because of lil miss. I can't wait to get back to running! Can't wait to hear your progress!

I love group classes at the gym. AS long as you can make yourself get there, there is no way you're going to quit when a 50+ year old woman next to you is kicking your butt! You also end up developing a sense of community so you feel guilty when you no show because you know everyone else is there!

I have really gotten into pilates lately! I LOVE it. It's the only excersize I can tolerate without getting bored out of my mind! I have also recently gotten a juicer and will be drinking home made all natural juice for breakfast every day- so we will see if that makes any difference!

Its been said that it takes 23 days to make a habit out of something. During that time you cannot "skip" or stop the behavior for more than two consecutive days, or else you have to start over. I learned this during a training session for my job but have applied it to my personal life as well. When I was trying to get into shape a few years ago I posted 23 post-it notes on the fridge, numbered backwards from 23 down to 1. Every day that I worked out, I removed a post-it note. Seeing the post-its every day was a great reminder to stay on track. It was also great motivation as I got lower down in the numbers because I knew that if I didn't work out for three days in a row I was out of the "habit forming routine" and had to start over. At the end of the 23 days, getting up early to work out had definitely become a habit and I was able to easily stick with it after that. It was great to mark the accomplishment over time by watching the numbers on the post-its get lower and lower. Doing the "post-it challenge" also ingrained in my head that I shouldn't take more than 2 days off my exercise routine in a row, even after the 23 days were up. I definitely got into great shape once I got into the exercise habit and stuck with it!

I'm pretty out of shape these days and have been thinking about putting the post-its back on the fridge! Good luck! Its definitely easier to fall out of shape than to get back in it!

Hi! So for me, I love food way to much to diet so working out is the only option but then, I hate working out!

A group of mom friends and I started this work out plan about a month ago. We have to work out 3 times each week. A workout means at least 20 minutes and you have to break a sweat. I usually do Jillian Michael's "The Shred" dvd (she's the trainer from the biggest loser). If we fail to do a workout, we owe $5. So, in 1 week, if I didn't work out at all, I would owe $15! At the end of the month, we take all the money we owe and go out to a healthy dinner and enjoy girls night out without babies and hubbies. This month, I owe $20!! That stinks but I still did 8 more workouts than I would've without the workout plan!

I have a few things that help me:
-Set a goal for yourself. If you want to make it M/W/F working out, plan for it and don't give yourself an excuse out of it. Mark it out on a calendar so you get to check off every time you make it!
-Plan for an event. If you are enjoy running or biking, sign up for a local race, making sure you give yourself time to train safely.
-Get a friend to take the challenge with you. It's so much easier when you have someone else to hold you accountable. Right now, a group of girlfriends and I are training for a 1/2 marathon together. You can't skip your workouts, because the others are depending on you to do the race with them. It's harder to let others down.
-Don't worry so much about weight. If you want to track your progress, measure yourself. If you are gaining muscle and burning off fat, your weight might not change too much since muscle weighs more. It really doesn't matter what the scale says anyway if you're happy with the way you look. Plus it's nice to be able to track your progress. It's a sweet little victory :)

Hope these help! Good luck!

Im so bad at getting motivated but I feel like once you stick with a workout routine for 2 weeks it gets so much easier after that and it becomes more of a habit.

Airplanes -B.O.B feat. Haley Williams
I wanna go crazy -David Guetta
Love the Way you Lie-Eminem & Rihanna
Fergalicious- Fergie
Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon

P90X, It's a great program. It's for 90 days and it's tough, but totally worth it!
